KBA Performs Ecological Risk Assessment of TCE Plume
September 26, 2008.
KBA submitted final calculations of source
media Protective Concentration Levels (PCLs) to TCEQ for an aerospace
manufacturing company in Texas.
The source media PCLs are the concentration of contaminants in the
groundwater that are protective of human and ecological exposure to surface
water and sediments in an adjacent creek.
The contaminants in the groundwater are chlorinated solvents and metals.
TCEQ had previously accepted KBA’s Ecological Risk Assessment conclusions
that the contaminant levels do not presently pose an unacceptable risk to
ecological receptors from exposure to the creek or site soils.
